The five-week challenge getting kids healthy

A national programme prioritising health and well-being visited Windsor North School in Invercargill on September 15.
The Zespri Young & Healthy Virtual Adventure encourages kids to drink more water and find new ways to be active during the cooler months of the year.
In a press release, Virtual Adventure founder Kim Harvey said the programme was an “interactive way to help kids understand and notice for themselves what it feels like when they make healthy choices”.
“The kids earn points for simple healthy habits like drinking plenty of water, eating fruit and vegetables, caring for their mental health and looking after our environment, which helps them travel virtually to different locations around the world with their classmates,” she said.
Harvey said the challenge would encourage students to play on the school field at lunch, walk or bike after school.
