Programme aimed at ‘iPad generation’

As part of the Zespri Young and Healthy Virtual Adventure programme, the Apakura class at Te Kura Kaupapa Ma¯ori oNga¯ti Kahungunuki Heretaunga in Bridge Pa have received running shoes.

The programme sees 20,000 Kiwi kids on a virtual adventure around the globe with six journey legs. The students create an avatar and can earn points for simple healthy habits like moving as much as possible, minimising screen time, drinking plenty of water and eating fruit and vegetables. The points move their team around the global course and as they reach each destination, they will see their avatars interacting with ASICS ambassadors Ardie Savea, Ameliaranne Ekenasio, Kane Williamson and Samantha Charlton.
