Havelock School and Waikawa Bay School pupils will this week start the 2022 Zespri Young and Healthy Virtual Adventure. The health and wellbeing programme takes 22,000 Kiwi tamariki on a virtual trip around the globe, instilling healthy habits along the way.

Young and Healthy Charitable Trust founder Kim Harvey said the adventure helped children form healthy habits to last a lifetime. Each child creates their own virtual avatar, learning from sporting heroes such as All Black Ardie Savea and Silver Fern Ameliaranne Ekenasio, and accumulating game points towards the class total by making real-world choices such as eating a piece of fruit or drinking water. The adventure runs from tomorrow until November 24.
